You trusted us to do the people’s work when you elected us in 2021 and 2023.

We are asking for your vote on April 1st for our final term on the Fond du Lac City Council.

After two terms, we have a long list of accomplishments. Here are some of them.

We are proud of the improvements made in our downtown business district. We’ve supported small businesses by funding grants for relocation or the opening of new retail businesses in downtown Fond du Lac. To date 12 new businesses have taken advantage of these programs. We also supported redevelopment of the historic Brickle building into new store fronts and some badly needed new apartments. Finally, after years of sitting vacant, the old Dillinger’s Tavern at Division and Main Streets will finally reopen in 2026 as a food court/restaurant incubator.

We spearheaded and supported many improvements in Lakeside Park. The Lighthouse Point reconstruction completely renovated Lighthouse Point by adding a bike/pedestrian trail, fishing piers and re-configuring the parking space. Also, the Lighthouse was completely renovated. Other enhancements to Lakeside Park include a new gazebo and an expansive new playground structure both funded by private donations. In 2024, an initiative that started with the 2020 Council was completed with the opening of the pedestrian/bike bridge over the Fond du Lac River. This bridge finally links the two parts of the park and makes all of the park accessible for pedestrians and bikers. Also completed was the boardwalk and viewing platform in Supples Marsh in Lakeside Park West and repaving of the entry road into Lakeside Park West from Hwy 45.

The Council also approved a complete redesign of Plamore Park to make the entire park inclusive, finishing of the McDermott Park master plan including a synthetic ice rink, major improvements to Hamilton Park, and historic investments in neighborhood parks including more inclusive playground structures. It’s important to remember all-inclusive playgrounds are not just about the kids, it’s about the families too.

We have supported children and families by allocating ARPA funds to the Boys and Girls Club. We changed the hiring of Animal Control officers, and supported the Crisis Response Team at the Fond du Lac Police Department. We want to tackle the challenges Fond du Lac faces, from childcare to mental health and homelessness. These are complex problems, and we are committed to finding local solutions that work for our community.

We helped facilitate the partnership with FDL County for the Pioneer Drive reconstruction, now it is safer to walk and bike on that street. We also worked in partnership with FDL County, the FDL Fair Board and National Exchange Bank & Trust to finance the building of a permanent stage at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds. The stage will open this year. This private/public partnership brings a big improvement that will last for decades to a much beloved community gathering place.

We have also supported city staff as they work on flood mitigation projects in the city, like the 14th Street pilot project for flood reduction. We have supported major improvements at the water treatment plant, such as a biosolids dryer acquisition, remodeling of the FDL police department and an addition to the south Main Street Fire Station. And, in spite of rising inflation, every city budget has been balanced and taxes, water, and sewer rates stayed stable.
